How to buy dividend?

for example, you invest in maybank retail money market in long term holding, you will received a dividend.

Ooi Zu Xi OP : Okay, means that if I buy a stock for example Maybank or Public bank, I just hold on for a long time period. I just don’t sell the stocks mean I get to received the dividend?

102469875 Ooi Zu Xi OP : ms ooi this is money market fund, it will show you day day how much go up > near end of month it will have some *Negative > and then *Positive back also add some > i think last day or entering 1st day new month you get dividend (i just started 06/Nov/2024)

$SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY.US)$  - you can not all in one shot. This share needs average-average invest month by month or year by year

$Berkshire Hathaway-B (BRK.B.US)$ - this is the same. Invest average-average he got 5 years average up 20%

i invest a base myr 10k money market, and then wait some time like 1~2weeks for it grow a bit.

use some margin myr -934.08 buy like 440usd dividend etf ;

$Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF (SCHD.US)$ i buy because watch some youtube explain,

$Realty Income (O.US)$ also from youtube, but i choose it because dividend pay monthly,

$NEOS S&P 500 HIGH INCOME ETF (SPYI.US)$ this one got highest dividend like 11.70%-30%us tax i got like 8.19% *also pay dividend monthly

with these 3 dividend etf + money market, i think it is safe to pay off the margin by itself

Now this point, i saw a funny problem this plan the impact may be very small and very slow to grow bigger.

so i would need some appreciation stocks like $Berkshire Hathaway-B (BRK.B.US)$ , the shares can go up, and it will give me more margin to invest dividend etf.

currently, my daily interest is RM -0.17

money market daily is like RM +1.14

Dec 2024 dividend is like USD +3.37 (after -30%us tax)

note : This is how i try. started on 11-Nov-2024, i do it because i saw dictators ensalve people and then this imagination appear in my mind : i work for money since 2012, why not i ensalve money? make money work for me.
