How to report suspicious activity on social media platforms

To report suspicious accounts or content on social media platforms, use this simple guide to get started:


How to report on WhatsApp:
1. Open the chat with the contact you want to report.
2. Tap More options > More > Report.
• Check the box if you would like to also block the user and delete messages in the chat.
3. Tap Report.
Note: WhatsApp receives the last five messages sent to you by the reported user or group, and they won’t be notified. WhatsApp also receives the reported group or user ID, information on when the message was sent, and the type of message sent (image, video, text, etc.).

You can also report an account by long pressing a single message.
1. Long press an individual contact name, then release to open the menu.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the menu. Tap Block {contact name}.

How to report on Facebook:
1. Go to the profile you want to report by clicking its name in your Feed or searching for it.
2. Click more to the right and select Find support or report.
3. To give feedback, click the option that best describes how this profile goes against our Community Standards.
4. Depending on your feedback, you may then be able to submit a report to Meta. For some types of content, we don't ask you to submit a report, but we use your feedback to help our systems learn. Click Done.

How to report on Viber:
1. Open Viber
2. Select the Community that you would like to report
3. At the top of the screen, tap the 3 dots
4. Tap Report Community
5. Select the reason for reporting the Community

How to report on LINE:
To report someone in a chat:
1. Tap the menu icon at the top of the chat screen > Settings.
2. Tap Report.
3. Select your reason for reporting the person, then tap Agree & send.
To report spam or problematic messages:
1. Tap and hold the message you want to report.
2. Tap Report.
3. Select your reason for reporting the message, then tap Agree & send.
4. Choose whether or not to block the sender.
