HSI Drops 136 pts at Open; SENSETIME Slumps 4.5%, as Chip & Tech Stocks Retreat
Hong Kong stocks opened lower in the morning. $Hang Seng Index (800000.HK)$ opened 136 points or 0.7% lower at 18,199. $Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (800100.HK)$ opened 55 points or 0.8% lower at 6,500. $Hang Seng TECH Index (800700.HK)$ opened 47 points or 1.3% lower at 3,720.
$SENSETIME-W (00020.HK)$ opened plummeting 4.5% at $1.26 after raising nearly $2 billion in a 9.1% discounted share placement.
For other tech stocks, $BABA-W (09988.HK)$ , $TENCENT (00700.HK)$ , $XIAOMI-W (01810.HK)$ , $JD-SW (09618.HK)$ and $KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK)$ opened dropping 0.9% to 1.3%, while $NTES-S (09999.HK)$ , $BIDU-SW (09888.HK)$ , and pickypiki $BILIBILI-W (09626.HK)$ opened retreating 2% to 2.4% lower. $MEITUAN-W (03690.HK)$ opened down 0.2% at $119.7.
