HSI futures extend rally
• The Hang Seng Index futures rose 1.2% as at the mid-day break today, extending gains from last week's rally as investors shift their focus to the upcoming earnings releases and potential rate cuts in the U.S. (South China Morning Post, 19th Aug) Check out the highlights of our warrants intra-day flows:
• With the rally, investors were bargain hunting the HSI puts. HSI-HWI which fell 53.3%, saw investors net bought a total of 9.8M units. Other HSI put warrants which took the spotlight this morning were HSI-HW5 (-16.3%) and HSI-HWH (-22.2%) with investors net buying a combined total of over 3M units.
• Meanwhile, our HSI call warrants HSI-CVT (+18.2%) and HSI-CXC (+12.9%) also saw investors net bought 6M units and 4.2M units respectively.
Investors net bought:
HSI-HWI (-53.3%) 9.8M units
HSI-CVT (+18.2%) 6.0M units
HSI-CXC (-7.7%) 4.2M units
Investors sold back:
HSI-CXJ (0.0%) 1.3M units
Investors should note that some of the warrants mentioned above will expire on 29 August 2024, with their last trading date on 27 August 2024. Investors may wish to consider warrants with longer time to expiry as shorter dated warrants tend to experience a higher rate of time decay than longer dated warrants.
