Hong Kong stocks opened lower in the morning session. $Hang Seng Index (800000.HK)$ opened 14 points or 0.1% lower at 17,454. $Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (800100.HK)$ opened 5 points or 0.1% lower at 6,189. $Hang Seng TECH Index (800700.HK)$ opened 5 points or 0.2% lower at 3,539.

For techs, $BABA-W (09988.HK)$ , $TENCENT (00700.HK)$ and $XIAOMI-W (01810.HK)$ slid 0.1%, while $JD-SW (09618.HK)$ dropped 0.3%. $NTES-S (09999.HK)$ picked up 2.1%, while chip equipment stock $ASMPT (00522.HK)$ descended 6.1% to $107.5 before its decline widened, as its interim net profit fell 49.6% to $315 million. $MEITUAN-W (03690.HK)$ opened flat at $118.1, while $BIDU-SW (09888.HK)$ and $KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK)$ opened flat at $88.25 and $44.55 each.
