Huawei and BAIC's Joint Venture Jihu S9 Approaches Launch
On July 8, Huawei’s executive director Richard Yu announced in a live broadcast that the Jihu S9 is now available for pre-order, with an official launch planned for August 6.
The pre-sale price is between 450,000 to 550,000 yuan. The Jihu S9’s main competitors are the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, and Audi A6L.
BAIC BluePark expects the Jihu S9 to sell 480,000 units over its 5-year lifecycle, with annual sales from 2024 to 2028 expected to be 60,000, 120,000, 120,000, 96,000, and 84,000 units respectively.
Huaan Securities believes the high-end car market is dominated by well-known luxury brands, making it difficult for new brands to enter.
