$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ These companies, which are also major customers of Nvidia, could test the chip with their own hardware.
This concerns server and internet companies in China that currently use AI chips from Nvidia. Huawei would like to fill the shortage of AI chips at these companies caused by the US restrictions on AI chips. The company has not yet confirmed the rumors.
The Ascend 910C is a data center chipset for AI applications. Huawei reportedly told customers last month that the performance of this model is comparable to that of the Nvidia H100. This American chipset is currently not available in China due to export restrictions. No concrete specifications of the Ascend 910C are known. For example, it is not clear who produces the chipset and what process it uses. The Ascend 910C is the successor to the Ascend 910B. This AI data center chip is currently being made by Chinese chipmaker SMIC on a second-generation 7nm node, reportedly with low yields. The Ascend 910C should be officially available in October.
