Huawei orders 'white gloves', rumored that Taiwan Semiconductor has seized billions of dollars.

The United States has imposed sanctions on the Chinese semiconductor industry, however, recently TSMC chips were found in Chinese Huawei devices, which may violate U.S. regulations. After detecting this anomaly, Taiwan Semiconductor voluntarily stopped shipments. Some industry insiders revealed that the company suspected of being a 'white glove' for Huawei is a Chinese design company, which has prepaid hundreds of millions of dollars, and may have all of it confiscated by Taiwan Semiconductor.

Recently, foreign media reported that Huawei's latest AI processor, the 'Kirin 910B', contains Taiwan Semiconductor chips, while Huawei has been under U.S. sanctions since August 2020. Taiwan Semiconductor also stated that the company is committed to complying with all applicable regulations, including export controls, and has not shipped to Huawei since mid-September 2020, actively communicating with the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The latest report from the Financial Times (FT) of the United Kingdom quotes insiders as saying that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (Taiwan Semiconductor) harbored doubts after receiving an order from a customer to produce a chip similar to Huawei Kirin 910B. At the same time, they informed this customer and the U.S. Department of Commerce that the investigation by the U.S. Department of Commerce is "related" to Taiwan Semiconductor, but Taiwan Semiconductor is not the subject of the investigation. The Department of Commerce and Taiwan Semiconductor have indeed "discussed" cases where companies attempted to evade export controls, but there is no evidence of Taiwan Semiconductor intentionally violating regulations.

Taiwan Semiconductor responded yesterday, stating that they have actively communicated with the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the issues raised in the report. Currently, the company has not been informed that they are the subject of any investigation. It is interpreted by the public that this is the first time Taiwan Semiconductor has clearly spoken out and is not passively under investigation, but took the initiative to inform the U.S. Department of Commerce, which helps dispel doubts in the market about 'TSMC violations.'
Reuters also reported that, according to informed sources, Taiwan Semiconductor has informed the United States that one of its chips has been found in Huawei's products. Huawei's AI chip 'Ascend 910B' is manufactured by China Best, this chip is considered the closest domestic version alternative to Nvidia's A100, but a technical research company found evidence suggesting the use of Taiwan Semiconductor's technology.
