i added a very significant number of shares
catalysts:
- nasdaq inclusion (big deal, all the nasdaq funds are forced to buy smci whether they like it or not. that's going to be a large inflow and the thing with these funds is they're not like you and me they only rebalance every quarter or even less often so that's large scale accumulation without the selling pressure!)
- stock split rumors - look it's just rumors but the probability is very high. nvda, avgo have already split and if the management of smci are any sane they'll follow suit soon
- dark pool accumulation - friday night there were massive buys by people with millions of dollars. also the call option flow has turned positive and people are buying up calls. i don't have to tell you these people always know things before us they know the nasdaq inclusion before it was announced and the fact that they're buying so much is a good thing
- earnings beat - there's no two ways about it with the speed at which businesses are buying gpus and chips smci is expected to show earnings beat and strong guidance
- chart consolidation - you do some basic technical analysis you can see this thing has been consolidating with higher lows since the massive explosion to 1200 several months back. it's priming itself for the next rally and you can see the sellers are drying up and buyers are slowly increasing
with all of these catalysts in place i would be very surprised if smci fails to breakout in the next few weeks to few months

ISTJ : agreed, the index funds have requirements for asset allocation. Once SMCI is officially in Nasdaq, there will be more capital added to the stock.
MomentumPython1337 OP ISTJ : the market is always a game of tug of war between bulls and bears. just a few % shift from bears to bulls is enough to spark the breakout which will then attract a chain reaction from retail/traders/institutions. people severely underestimate this effect.
another example is $Amazon (AMZN.US)$ single seller jeff bezos has been selling everytime it hits 200 and bringing the price down. but once he finishes this sale i would be extremely surprised if the stock fails to breakout.
