what do you exactly mean that you just found out about the compound decay? would like to know if there is a difference from my own understanding.

My advise if the stock is worth it to hold and go long. But if it’s trash and you bought on a whim better to sell and go for better. Same advise to stop loss and profit take. But even I don’t follow that for my $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ . I’m gonna hold it till it jumps back Come What May. I believe in Brother Huang.

Also I recently heard people bought this instead of actual $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ stocks. What’s the difference and why did you get this instead of the actual stock. Do explain to a fellow casual investor

I believe in him too. Only problem with NVDL vs NVDA. I would hold NVDA instead of NVDL. Cutting loss to prevent more daily compound delay over time. Did not know about this until experimented out of greed.
Summary of explaination. If you bought the ETF at $100 the share goes down by 10% you go down by 20% the value which is at $80,if share rises by 10% it will go up by 20% you get $96 instead of $99 that is a $3 decay right there. The longer you hold it will start compounding daily and the value of the leveraged ETF may go to 0.

I like the part when you say if main stock goes up by 10% it goes up by 20%. Then you say the ETF gets to 0 after some time . I’m like
