Chicago Fed President Goolsbee said on the 3rd day that if the strike by US port workers prolongs, it could lead to price increases due to supply chain disruptions. He appeared on WBEZ Radio.
In response to the strike, retail and manufacturing companies have stocked about two weeks' worth of goods, but pointed out that if the labor dispute drags on, there is a possibility that 'some prices may rise'.
The strike by port workers on the East Coast and the Gulf of Mexico entered its third day.
