If you have a plot of land, are you planning to grow oil palm or use solar power?
Bank of Malaysia investment bank analysts pointed out that today's urgent demand for renewable energy has created another new business opportunity for domestic planting companies with suitable land, namely solar energy development projects, especially large-scale solar energy projects (LSS), where returns may be 54 times higher than the oil palm business.
“According to SD Chiari (SDG, 5285, Motherboard Implant Stock) $SDG(5285.MY$ According to recent guidelines (that is, Senami cultivation), each megawatt (MW) of solar power will require 1.5 to 1.7 hectares of land, the construction cost is RM2.5 million, and the expected return is 8% to 13%.”
He added that SD Yajili is interested in entering the solar industry, with the goal of building 1 gigawatt (GW) solar facility within 5 years.
“According to our rough calculation, 1 gigawatt of power generation capacity will bring in a continuous income of RM134 million to RM266 million per year, and only use 1,500 to 1,700 hectares of land.” The analyst pointed out that compared with the average operating profit of oil palm cultivation in the past 10 years, that is, RM4,444 per hectare, this is equivalent to 24 to 54 times higher return. ”
Another way of looking at it is that every megawatt of investment may bring in a net profit of RM134,000 to RM266,000.
