Ignore decay. It does not matter. The big downside with leveraged etfs is the massive drawdowns. If you look at $ProShares UltraPro QQQ ETF (TQQQ.US)$ you will see that it is up an insane amount since inception and is absolutely a good long term investment, however, you will also notice the 80% drawdown in 2022. Putting all your money into leveraged etfs and holding is a bad idea for that reason, but it can still be very profitable if done right.
