$Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI.US)$ It is clear that sector rotation is progressing towards an economic downturn, and high-tech, semiconductors, etc., are being affected compared to the S&P 500 (still near its all-time high). The risk of further decline from here seems high, so I have not touched it. However, I think it is important to always have one foot in the market, so I personally think it's okay to keep holding the S&P 500, etc.
I think that long-term bonds are more likely to be bought, but considering that they significantly touch a high yen in a declining market, I feel that the return does not match the risk when considering in yen terms. Therefore, I have significantly increased my cash position in yen and now the S&P500 and yen make up most of my assets. In the first place, buying US stocks is to increase dollar assets, so if you might be able to buy dollars cheaply in the future, it might be a good idea to hold them in yen.
I initially thought that this bulletin board was interesting, but now there are unpleasant comments and interactions that come up when the market becomes unstable, and it is unfortunate. I can't help but think it must be tough for famous influencers.
I generally have a cautious attitude towards high-risk products such as leveraged ETFs, and I wonder about overly bullish comments. However, I do feel that there are people who are successful even when considering the risks. And there may be some people who achieve great success by persistently holding their beliefs and having the patience to endure, even if their reasoning is somewhat absurd. I think they are very few in number, though.
For myself, I maintain a certain level of stability by focusing on VTI as the core of my ETF portfolio, and since I have a family, I don't consider large-scale gambling. As for my investment philosophy, I feel that watching the videos of a certain famous influencer who lives in Florida has been very beneficial. It's not about making predictions or picking stocks that will have exponential growth (since anyone can't do that), but rather about thinking with my own head and making investments that match the risk.
I have made significant mistakes in the past as well, and I have come to realize that commenting on a bulletin board like this about risk management or anything else is ultimately meaningless. It seems that you can only truly understand through firsthand experience, like getting seriously burned.
I think that only people who can continue calmly without being affected and those who are good at changing their mindset will ultimately remain in the market.
