$Intel (INTC.US)$ Finance | Huawei's new laptop equipped with intel ai chip, US Senator: unacceptable.

Huawei will release its first artificial intelligence (AI) laptop, MateBook X Pro, this week, which is equipped with Intel's AI chip Core Ultra 9 processor.

Intel Core Ultra processor was released at the end of last year, based on Intel's 4th generation technology, with more advanced processing capabilities for artificial intelligence (AI) compared to previous products. 'Reuters' cited sources as saying that these chips were shipped under existing licenses and are not included in the recent US restrictions on exporting ai chips to China.

Some Republican lawmakers in the USA said the incident is unacceptable, claiming that the release of this laptop reflects the Biden administration allowing sanctioned Huawei to 'green light', thereby actively working to undermine usa's national security. Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said in response to Reuters that these approvals must be stopped. Two years ago, he was informed that licenses would be suspended to Huawei. Today, it seems that the policy has not changed.

MateBook X Pro is the first laptop to use Huawei's PanGu large model, and it collaborates with eco-partners such as Wenxin Yiyu, WPS AI, Iflytek Xinghuo, and Smart Spectrum Qingyan to provide more than 100 ai smart applications.

The US Department of Commerce declined to comment. Huawei and Intel did not respond to requests for comments.
