Intel to manufacture custom AI chips for Amazon - German factory plan frozen

Intel's CEO, Pat Gelsinger, has secured Amazon's subsidiary AWS as a customer in the manufacturing business. This could bring jobs to the new factory under construction in the USA and support the company's efforts to rebuild.
According to the announcement on the 16th, Intel and AWS will jointly invest in custom semiconductors for artificial intelligence (AI) computing on a multi-year, billion-dollar scale framework. This work relies on Intel's advanced chip manufacturing technology called the 18A process.
According to Intel, construction projects in Poland and Germany will be suspended for about 2 years in response to market demand. Another project in Malaysia will be completed, but operation will be limited to when conditions are met.
