Tehran suggested that missile attacks against Israel have ceased, and warned the Israeli government not to retaliate.
"Iran's legitimate, rational, and just response to the terrorist acts of the Zionist regime that target the Iranian people and interests and violate the national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been appropriately executed," stated the Iranian UN delegation in a social media post.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced an attack on Israel as retaliation for the killing of Nasrallah.
Iran's Fars News reported that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards stated that the missile attacks on Israel were in retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah last week and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh earlier this year.
The Revolutionary Guards stated in a declaration, "In retaliation for the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah, and (Commander of the Revolutionary Guards) Nilforoushan, we targeted the central part of the occupied territory."
