I don't buy into the option spread volatility of the underlying stock it's not what I've observed like right now they're calling for an 11% swing one way or another.
typically bad news is 2:1 over good news
the elevator goes straight down the escalator gradually goes up.
so you're down to the wire if you want to buy puts or hedge I wouldn't go out past this Friday for options there's no reason to.. your options are either going to be up significantly or they're going to zero tomorrow morning at 9:30.
oh and so you don't think you know I'm some a hole, I'm long nvdia (had 2000 shares pre split ) I'm long multiple other chip stocks/SOXL and good news on Nvidia would put it 139.. and I think we could see a spike 141 142

my plans and again I hope I'm wrong I hope they knock the cover off the ball.... they say whatever issues they have had been resolved and they're going to be shipping Q4 and they provide much higher guidance for q1 and the balance of 25 give us an idea what next year will look like which they should have an idea right now.
but if we get kicked in the balls on the open and we get a gap down.. let's call it 110. I'm selling puts on nvdu.. $2 $3 less than the current market for a very short time. an innovators and then I'm going long the ETF as well. I think it's going to be a very fast Market on the open I think the lowest prices will be within the first 30 seconds of the market and then I believe all of the people that missed Nvidia the silent minority that hates the fact that they missed it again because they didn't buy it August 5th are going to come in and start to buy the stock. so if we're 110 on the open I think we'll see 113 114 within a few minutes and then you'll roll over a dollar and then you'll begin to consolidate at higher prices the balance of the day. I think Friday Monday you'll see a $2 move up $3 move higher pre-market based off of some news that Nvidia will release or a brokerage which puts a recommendation on if something like that.
do not listen to the naysayers on TV that are going to say it's Cisco it's an AI bubble it's overvalued they're idiots at the end of the day and at the beginning of the day and every part of the day in between.
