Israeli minister says negotiations will be suspended and fuel and electricity supplies to Gaza will be cut
Israel's far-right national security minister Itamar Ben Gubir said the government should “cancel negotiations” with Hamas and cut off fuel and electricity supplies to Gaza.
“The country where six hostages were ruthlessly killed will not negotiate with the murderers, but will cancel negotiations, stop fuel and electricity supplies, and crush until the killers are defeated,” he said in an X post.
“Continuing negotiations will only encourage them to further terrorize.”
Israel accuses Hamas of killing six prisoners of war discovered in a tunnel in Gaza on 9/1. They were alive a few days before the military rescue operation, and it is said that they were killed when the troops approached.
Hamas executive Bassem Naim told Al Jazeera that it was unclear how the six prisoners died and that Hamas was awaiting details from local Hamas forces.
