Jakarta - Crossborder delivery services help MSME actors to reach various consumers in a number of countries.

The reason is that this crossborder provides fast, economical and guaranteed delivery services to overseas destinations.

This was revealed by Shopee Indonesia Executive Director Christin Djuarto during the ASEAN Online Sale Day (AOSD) side event in Semarang City, Central Java, yesterday.

"Shopee sees crossborder as a driving force for MSMEs to achieve prosperity in digital economic growth. Currently, we have more than 20 million MSME products registered in the Shopee Export Program and can be purchased in various countries such as Southeast Asia, East Asia and Latin America, " Christin said in his statement.

He said this step provided an opportunity for MSME players to expand the market and was matched by quality improvements, so that the resulting products were able to give a good impression to consumers.

Moreover, data from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs stated that exports of Indonesian MSME products were only 15.65%, which was still lower than South Korea's 19.7%, Malaysia 17.3% and Thailand 28.7%. According to him, it is this opportunity that must be maximized by local MSMEs to penetrate foreign markets.
