According to a statement released by the Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday, September 24, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Gan Kim Yong attended the third Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) Ministerial Meeting online on the same day. At the meeting, 14 Indo-Pacific Economic Framework partner countries welcomed three forthcoming agreements. The Clean Economy Agreement and the overall agreement of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework will come into effect on October 11.
The Ministry of Commerce statement said: "The entry into force of these agreements marks an important step for the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework in promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth across the entire Indo-Pacific region. Strengthening economic integration and accelerating the transition to clean energy will bring significant opportunities for trade, investment, and innovation, and open up new areas."
