The citrinine described by Kobayashi Pharmaceutical itself seems to have nephrotoxicity.
According to this discussion, Japanese stocks and Taiwanese stocks are fine (out because the Chinese strain has the citrinin gene), but there are reports that Taiwanese strains also expressed the citrinin gene in the past, so if genetic mutations etc. occur, I think Japanese stocks may also have the citrinine gene.
With only this in-house research, they didn't do unannounced tests for citrinine in subsequent products, so it's useless as a pharmaceutical manufacturer (I wonder if they didn't even do it because Tokuho didn't even have Tokuho).
