Last month, my wife and I took a trip to Thailand... ...
Last month, my wife and I took a trip to Thailand.
When I was flying back home, I checked my plane ticket.
After looking at the position on the Boarding Pass, I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
"Whether you choose or not, being selected to sit in the dreaded middle..."
If you have ever sat in the middle seat, you will know how awkward it can be.
If you sit in your seat one second later than the passenger sitting next to you, your territory will be occupied.
Sure enough, when I got there, the armrest on my left was already taken over.
And this is not a big deal, the middle seat is still very narrow.
For a 180 cm tall person like me, it's even narrower.
At that time, I was full of resentment towards the passenger next to me.
Why put your hand on this armrest?
There are clearly many empty seats on the left, why not sit a little to the side?
Just as I kept feeling dissatisfied, I suddenly realized, 'Hey, why should I blame my neighbor?'
The airplane seats are so narrow today, isn't it because Airasia's design is not good enough?
Why is the seat designed so narrow?
Why is the leg seat gap so small?
Thousands of errors, all are the fault of Airasia!
We are all paying passengers and should enjoy the comfortable rights that consumers should have.
I'm sorry, neighbor, I shouldn't blame you...
Should not turn the airline company's issue into the passenger's issue... Should not... Should not...
Just when I complain about Airasia, I'm thinking why should I fly with Airasia?
Because the airfare is very cheap, my round trip is only around RM300.
Why can it be so cheap?
Because they make full use of the space inside the airplane.
So they arrange a lot of seats and compress the space.
This way, they can carry more passengers on each flight to earn more profit.
As the saying goes, cheap things are not good.
When things are cheap, you have to endure inadequate comfort and withstand being pitched products during the journey...
In the end, the problem is not with my neighbour, nor does it involve AirAsia... it's all on me!
It's not because I don't have enough money.
If I had enough money today, would I still choose airlines like Airasia?
Would I still choose economy class?
I might not even need to think, I would just go with Thai Airways.
Even for the short 2-hour journey from Thailand to Malaysia.
I am willing to pay a bit more for my comfortable experience...
I never expected that in just a minute, I would go through #three changes of mind.
From blaming the passengers, blaming the airlines, to eventually blaming myself...
Because I know that blaming others for problems is a kind of irresponsibility.
Remember, when we point a finger at others, three fingers are pointing back at ourselves.
And we can never change external things (Do I have to change Airasia? That's impossible.)
However, we can learn to find reasons within ourselves and change ourselves.
#Find the problems within yourself, #think through; #Blame others for reasons, #go crazy with just a thought.
We have a long way to go in our lifetime.
If we can all change our mindset, look at problems from within, starting from within.
Blaming others is often easy, but it will not make ourselves better.
Always start by looking for reasons from oneself, take a closer look at oneself, and show more understanding towards others.
Will the world become a better place?
