According to BusinessKorea, LG Display decided to sell its 8.5-generation Guangzhou LCD factory to Huaxing Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. (TCL Huaxing), a subsidiary of TCL Technology. This move may cause LG Display's LCD market share to fall to 4.2% this year from 6.2% in 2023, and is expected to drop to 1.8% in 2027. On August 1, TCL Technology announced that TCL Huaxing was selected as the preferred bidder for LG Display's Guangzhou factory.
