Li Auto steps into "supervised autonomous driving", OTA 6.2 is officially fully pushed

During the Chengdu Auto Show, Li Auto showcased the ideal L series and MEGA at the 2024 Chengdu International Auto Show, announcing the latest progress and future plans of asia vets driving. They announced the recruitment of a thousand-person experience group for the new generation of ideal intelligent driving, based on end-to-end and VLM visual language models.

According to the official, Li Auto's end-to-end model is the One Model integrated end-to-end model, which can guarantee the "high efficiency" of most scenarios, giving the intelligent driving capability of a "veteran driver". The VLM visual language model is the world's first large model successfully deployed on a vehicle chip, with the ability to handle complex scenarios and logical thinking. Based on this technical solution, Li Auto brings users a new intelligent driving product and experience form, the "one-click intelligent driving" function from parking space to parking space. This function marks a new stage of "supervised autonomous driving" for the new generation of ideal intelligent driving products.

In addition, Li Auto announced the full push of OTA 6.2, adding heavyweight functions such as drawing parking spaces at will, low-speed automatic emergency braking, opening of ideal demonstration halls, and non-stop landing for supercharging stations. It continues to enhance the value of products in the areas of intelligent driving, intelligent space, and intelligent electric.

Li Auto's Senior Vice President of Product, Fan Haoyu, said, "With the release of Graphite NOA, the daily mileage of Li Auto's city NOA has tripled, and the daily activity of city NOA has increased eightfold. In addition, based on the end-to-end model, VLM visual language model, and world model, the new architecture of autonomous driving technology has opened the recruitment of a thousand-person experience group today. The new generation of products will enter a new stage of supervised autonomous driving. Li Auto's autonomous driving products are free for car owners."

Li Auto's Vice President of Intelligent Driving Research and Development, Lang Xianpeng, said, "Thanks to the massive training data, powerful computing power, and AI capability evaluation system, the speed of iteration for the new generation of ideal intelligent driving is very impressive. Li Auto has accumulated more than 2.2 billion kilometres of training mileage, and it is expected to exceed 3 billion kilometres by the end of 2024. The current training computing power has reached 5.39 EFLOPS, and it is expected to exceed 8 EFLOPS by the end of 2024. Li Auto invests more than 1 billion RMB in training computing power every year. We believe that to ultimately achieve autonomous driving, the training computing power required should reach the level of 100 EFLOPS, which is equivalent to an investment of over 1 billion USD per year."

In addition, the official stated that from 2022 to the end of Aug 2024, Li Auto's intelligent driving cumulative total mileage increased from 0.4 billion kilometres to 2.2 billion kilometres, and it is expected to reach 3 billion kilometres by the end of the year.
