Libya's petroleum production has decreased to less than 0.6 million barrels per day from the previous 1.2 million barrels per day. Local media reported that the country's petroleum production has decreased by at least 0.4 million barrels per day since the issuance of the shutdown order.
The eastern government of the country has recently declared 'force majeure' on all oil fields due to political conflicts, raising concerns about the possibility of operational shutdown. Petroleum accounts for over 60% of Libya's GDP.
