$LionGlobal Singapore Trust Fund (SG9999002406.MF)$ Hi MooMo...

Hi MooMoo, I'm a new subscriber.
When redeem, I realised the amount I can do so is not in SGD but units.
Then, when I tried to redeem 'all', it is not possible to get back the original sum I put in (I subscribed with 20k. The max. that can be redeemed is 10K +)
Why is that so?
Also, when does the money actually come back for a withdrawal if I redeem on day 1?
Thank you if you could enlighten me.

  • Kiang_Ng : FYR.

For Q1, units are denominated in SGD, when we buy a fund, we are buying the units of the fund, just like shares of stocks.

Q2, due to uncertainty of unit's price on the redemption day, the number shown is just for reference, one effective way to estimate whether the day's return positive or not is to look at the performance of the fund's major underlying.

Answer for Q3, it may take 5 working days, which you can see the trading rules for details.

  • Tinfloor39 OP Kiang_Ng : Thanks for sharing, buddy!
Oh yes, when I submitted to redeem on 29/11, I did so in units. I tried 12 Units.
It's only today that I see a 'S' sign (Sell?) pop up in the graph.
I assume, the price will be today's price when transaction is done..?

Oh well, it's rather tricky in my opinion..
It will be no good if I submit to redeem without getting a clear, fixed price known, and 2 days later when it's transacted, the price went down.

  • Tinfloor39 OP Kiang_Ng : what is the performance of the fund's major underlying and how to look at it..?

  • Kiang_Ng Tinfloor39 OP : The gain/loss on 29 Nov was recorded, so your return of this 12 units is fixed, performance after redemption date is no need to be considered for units you sold.

  • Kiang_Ng Tinfloor39 OP : Below the Page "performance", you can see a holdings sector. There are major underlying shares that funds invested last quarter end. You could have a rough estimate about the gain or loss on redemption day by viewing their performance.

  • Kiang_Ng Tinfloor39 OP : At the point clients sell, even the fund manager would not know what will happen to the unit price, cause, fund may invest in a variety of different assets/stocks, to determine a price it involves much calculation things.
