US tech mega-caps earnings preview - What's driving the market

Live preview: US tech mega-caps earnings preview - What's driving the market

US markets trade around record all time highs with the S&P500 up 22% as of Oct 27th this year, highs, thanks to better-than-expected US corporate news and US economic data. But what's ahead? Big tech earnings and the US election and stimulus from two biggest countries, China and the US.
Tesla shares rose 22%, its biggest gain since May 2013 possibly spurring a rally in the “Magnificent Seven” stocks, which hit a three-month high. If Tesla’s results were something to go by, then you might expect cracking report cards and rallies in Google, Apple, Meta, and Microsoft shares when they report next week. So what can you expect from some of the most influential companies on the stock market? Remembering when they have risen, they usually have bolstered the overall market. But what happens if they disappoint? There is a risk the market could fall.
But the ongoing US earnings season poses risks — any significant misses could trigger market pullbacks. Analysts predict a 4.3% earnings growth for the US market in the third quarter, lower than previous quarters. Investor enthusiasm over AI technology remains high, but doubts about its profitability loom.
Where are the potential investment opportunities?
Justin Zacks, US VP of strategy at moomoo, and Jessica Amir, market strategist at moomoo Australia, preview earnings for Apple, Microsoft, and Meta, and what their results could mean for you and the market.
They also cover the outlook for gold which Jessica expects to hit new record highs. Plus they cover what you should to know about Nvidia, lithium giant Albemarle, and Bitcoin proxies such as Square and MicroStrategy, as well as US defense giant Lockheed Martin — outlining key drivers for their respective sectors.
Please submit your questions on the topic and Justin and Jessica will answer them during the broadcast. Submit your complete question under this post, and you'll receive 100 Moo points, plus another 1000 if we use your question on air.

Should you choose one upcoming of those listed, which do you see overperforming? (I choose META as I think they’ve “won” AI in the near term.)

What options strategies, generally, might you suggest, not on specific tickers. But given conviction and hedging risk, say, into 2026?

    Thank you!

  • doctorpot1 : Goldman forecasts just a 3% S&P 500 annual for the next 10 years. one of the reason is due to frothy valuation, what is your take on this 3% annual return?
