Low-Carbon Manufacturing and Green Development: Empowering Brands and Boosting Environmental Value
Low-Carbon Manufacturing and Green Development
The Shell DEMaaS team has successfully delivered the Product Carbon Footprint Certificate and Decarbonization Pathway Report to Morimatsu
On August 1, Shell Lubricants’ Decarbonization and Energy Management as a Service (DEMaaS) team, led by Mason Xu, Director of Business Development and Continuous Improvement at Shell Lubricants Supply Chain China, visited Morimatsu (Jiangsu) Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. They held a ceremony to present the first phase of Carbon Footprint Certificates for Morimatsu’s products and the Decarbonization Pathway Report, joined by the company’s senior management and the Low Carbon Project Team.
During the ceremony, Steven Li, Purchasing Manager at Shell China, praised Morimatsu’s efforts in the decarbonization process and expressed gratitude to the Low Carbon Project Team for their dedication throughout the certification process. Mr. Sheng Ye, General Manager of Morimatsu Heavy Industry, commended the extensive collaboration between the two companies and praised the professionalism of the DEMaaS team. He also expressed enthusiasm for future partnerships.
Following the ceremony, Grace Huang, a carbon management expert from Shell’s DEMaaS team, provided a detailed overview of the Phase I Decarbonization Pathway Planning Report and identified potential opportunities for further decarbonization. After presenting the report, the DEMaaS team addressed questions about EU carbon tariffs and offered valuable advice on setting up a systematic carbon management system for the company. The discussion also delved deeper into potential collaboration opportunities in the decarbonization field.
Understanding the carbon footprint "from cradle to gate” helps us accurately measure our greenhouse gas emissions. With fluctuating energy prices and an increasing emphasis on sustainability, reducing energy consumption is essential for cutting costs. Through carbon footprint analysis, we can pinpoint high-energy-consuming areas and implement decarbonization measures, such as enhancing production processes to boost energy efficiency and cut energy procurement costs. Evaluating our carbon footprint and planning a decarbonization strategy will help us lower greenhouse gas emissions like carbon dioxide and methane, mitigating global warming.
In this era of global green development, every step toward low carbon is crucial. The successful delivery of the Product Carbon Footprint Certificate and Decarbonization Pathway Report represents a significant milestone toward achieving our "carbon neutrality and carbon peaking" goals. With these reports, our path to net-zero emissions is clearer, and our commitment to leaving a cleaner planet for future generations is stronger. Moving forward, we will continue to monitor and enhance our carbon reduction efforts. We also look forward to collaborating with more partners to advance green development in the industry and contribute to creating a better planet.
Let's anticipate seeing Morimatsu thrive on its low-carbon journey and work together toward a sustainable future!
