Major indices closed higher on Friday, notching in a fifth consecutive week of gains. Banks kicked off the third quarter results season, with JPMorgan and Wells Fargo announcing stronger than expected profits, boosting the S&P 500 to a new high and closing above 5,800 for the first time. The Dow Jones notched in a new record high as well, jumping more than 400 points to close 1.0% higher. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq-100 inched 0.2% higher, closing 2% away from its all time high.
