As for Thursday's session, the market received little significant news other than U.S. weekly initial jobless claims, which fell by 1,000 for the week ended Dec. 21 to a seasonally adjusted 219,000. That was lower than the 224,000 that economists had reportedly expected.
Sectors and individual stocks making significant moves included eVTOL companies, which are developing electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing vehicles for the "flying-car" and "air-taxi" industries.

Stocks to Watch
The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) divested 14.93 million shares of $YTLPOWR (6742.MY)$, consequently relinquishing its status as a major shareholder in the company. Valued at an estimated RM61.79 million, this transaction was calculated based on the closing price of RM4.14 per share for the multi-utility owner and operator.
Tenaga Nasional Bhd $TENAGA (5347.MY)$ has announced a rise in Peninsular Malaysia's base electricity tariff to 45.62 sen per kWh for 2025-2027, starting July 1, 2025. The current rate of 39.95 sen per kWh will continue until then, with KWIE covering any cost discrepancies. Additionally, TNB Renewables Sdn Bhd (TRe), a TNB unit, has been selected to develop a 500MW solar PV plant in Kedah, marking Malaysia's largest LSS project.
