According to TheBlock, the historic success of Bitcoin
$Bitcoin (BTC.CC)$ and Ethereum
$Ethereum (ETH.CC)$ ETFs in 2024 can be said to be the biggest news for cryptocurrencies and traditional financial markets this year. With a crypto-friendly White House, can this year's success spawn a Dogecoin
$Dogecoin (DOGE.CC)$ spot ETF in 2025.
Nate Geraci, president of ETF Store, said: "I think under the leadership of the new government, everything is within the scope of discussion. I hope the new government will act quickly to specify which cryptocurrency assets are securities and which are not. Once this framework is in place, the approval path for the remaining cryptocurrency spot ETFs should become clearer."
Crypto analyst Louis Sykes said: "I am very confident that we will see Solana ETF trading in the first half of 2025, and DOGE is much less likely, and Wall Street prefers assets that weren't born as memes."
Eric Balchunas, senior ETF analyst at Bloomberg, said: "Today's irony is tomorrow's ETF. You can ask yourself if the DOGE ETF is far away. I'd say we'll see a DOGE ETF, and I think someone will try it because why not?"
"The DOGE ETF filing is bound to happen, and with the huge success of the BTC ETF, entrepreneurial finance companies will look to create any product that may be successful," said Alexander Blume, CEO of Two Prime Digital Assets.
