$Shopify (SHOP.US)$ $Shopify Inc (SHOP.CA)$ shares skyrocketed 21% on Tuesday, after the company reported earnings that surpassed expectations and forecast stronger growth for the fourth quarter.
The Canadian e-commerce software company saw total sales jump 26% year-over-year in the third quarter to $2.16 billion. According to RBC Capital Markets, analysts were expecting revenue to reach $2.11 billion in the quarter. The sales growth marks the sixth consecutive quarter where growth in revenue excluding logistics surpassed 25%, Shopify says.

Companies like $Constellation Software Inc (CSU.CA)$ , $Open Text Corp (OTEX.CA)$ are also capturing a lot of attention with their innovative solutions

Jason Fung : $Shopify Inc (SHOP.CA)$ is the one of greatest tech success story in Canada. Happy to see that it is thriving. But there is only one Shopify in Canada and we really need more companies like it. I hope the government can create a more tech-friendly environment that support startups so more of them can grow to as big as Shopify. In my opinion, it makes sense for Canada to invest more into crypto and AI because these areas offers the most opportunities and probably has the best chance to grow a company into a billion dollars company.
