Let's join Max and dive into today's adventure!
This morning, a notification popped up – " $Trump Media & Technology (DJT.US)$ surges almost 10%!" Should I buy? Sell? Do nothing? I feel like I'm at the edge of the investment pool with no idea how to swim.
That's me, Max, a newcomer to investing. I've always read books about how we should make money work for us and now I decided to take the first step here in moomoo. However, the stock market always seemed like a complex puzzle, and I was missing most of the pieces.
What I really needed was a way to understand what the big players in the market were doing. After all, if I could see how successful institutions were investing, maybe I could learn from their strategies.
That's when I found the Institutional Tracker in moomoo. Here's what makes it special:
Comprehensive Coverage:
It tracks over 10 famous institutions, including Tiger Global, Hillhouse Capital, Berkshire Hathaway.
*Images provided are not current and any securities are shown for illustrative purposes only and are not recommendations.
Rich Portfolio Information:
With a few taps, I can see each institution's industry distribution, position changes, and stock holdings. Clear, concise, and customizable.

Multiple Ranking Dimensions:
Which institutions are making waves? Which stocks are institutional favorites? The tracker offers rankings of popular institutions, stocks with the most institutional investors, and the biggest position changes. It's like a financial GPS showing where big money flows.

The real magic? I can customize this data to suit my needs. For example, I noticed three major institutions increased holdings in a tech stock last quarter. This prompted me to research the company further. While I didn't blindly follow their lead, it gave me a solid starting point.
Thanks to this tool, I've found the courage to start investing. It's not about copying the pros, but learning from their moves to make informed decisions.
Explore it yourself under Markets > US(or other markets), or tap here to try. For more details, check the help center here.
Quick question in the end: Can you name a famous institution in the Institutional Tracker that has influenced your investment decisions?

102362254 : Can you name a famous institution in the Institutional Tracker that has influenced your investment decisions?
Berkshire Hathaway's value-driven approach under Warren Buffett has greatly influenced how I assess opportunities and manage risk
CNNT : When I explored the vast list of institutional investors, I was surprise to find that Berkshire Hathaway (BH) only have 24 holdings that make up their total portfolio of $294bil, vastly contrasting the diversification approach used by The Vangard and Blackrock, which has $5T + in portfolio size but 7000+ holdings.
BH's focused approach piqued my curiosity, but what astounded me even more was that unlike most of the top institutions that are heavily into tech, BH has more non-tech sector in their portfolio. I was particularly perplexed to see a sector or category called 'non-banking financial' accounting for a whopping 20% of their portfolio, which none of the top institutions practises.
This got me diving into this sector to find out what's so special about this sector and who the constituents are in it. The top 3 holdings of this sector BH owned were American Express, Moody's, and Chubb, the last 2 I hardly even heard of.
I plan to dig deeper into this and try to find what BH sees that others didn't. Hopefully, something good is in this rabbit hole.
