Micron expects to win over $6 billion in chip subsidies due to next week's announcement

It is the largest computer memory chip manufacturer in the United States $Micron Technology(MU.US)$ The company is prepared to obtain grants of 6 billion dollars or more from the Department of Commerce to support the costs of domestic factory projects as part of efforts to return semiconductor production to the US.
According to people familiar with this matter, it is still not a final decision, but there is a possibility that it will be announced as early as next week. It is unclear whether the company plans to receive loans under the 2022 Chips and Science Act (2022 Chips and Science Act) in addition to direct grants.
Micron, which is headquartered in Boise, Idaho, has built factories in New York and the local community. After the preliminary agreement was announced, the company began due diligence spanning several months, and then received funds by dividing them into tranches linked to benchmarks for each project.
Representatives from Micron, the Department of Commerce, and the White House declined to comment.
