omoooo : 142 in, wish me luck!
ๆณ่ต้ฑ็ไบบOP omoooo: NICE . I use sell put collect $450 premium at $130 strike price. money in pocket. The news is saying how good the financial report will be but I'm worried they will miss the estimate. So I'm just playing safe. If it plunges after the market is closed, I'm willing to buy at 130. If it rise, i still have 450 for coffee.![joy ๐](https://static.moomoo.com/nnq/emoji/static/image/img-apple-64/1f602.png)

JimmyPoh ๆณ่ต้ฑ็ไบบOP: What exactly is put? I saw someone mention it but I don't know what it means.
ๆณ่ต้ฑ็ไบบOP JimmyPoh: sell put is for collecting premium . it's like selling insurance to someone else and the price you are willing to buy for the stock but you need to have 100 shares cash. meaning if you sell put at strike price of 130, need to have 130x100 in your account just in case it is exercise on expiry date.
้ญ็พคๆๅ JimmyPoh: Selling a put is going long; buying a put is going short
Novice Trades ๆณ่ต้ฑ็ไบบOP: In other words, in your situation where you sell the put, if it rises to an amount above your break-even, you can buy it at 130?
ๆณ่ต้ฑ็ไบบOP Novice Trades: negative. sell put simply just collect premium. if it falls below 130 on expiry date, it will be exercise and I need to buy the option at 130x100 shares. if it remains above 130, nothing happens and the option just expires.
Novice Trades ๆณ่ต้ฑ็ไบบOP: got it, thanks
