The software company reported on Friday that the problems with Azure were caused by a configuration error. The CrowdStrike outage was caused by a recent kernel driver update, Microsoft told . Although the Azure outage has largely been resolved, customers may still experience issues with various services and apps, including OneDrive and Teams.
The CrowdStrike malfunction caused problems worldwide in aviation and hospitals, among others. The problem was with the Falcon Sensor software. After installing the update, Windows users started experiencing a BSOD. Because Falcon only works cloud-based as a SaaS package and updates are automatically received by customers, individual devices cannot stop the update. CrowdStrike has a solution to the problem, . It is not known how long it will take before the fault is resolved for all customers.
