The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has launched an investigation into Microsoft based on antitrust laws. The investigation covers a wide range of areas including cloud computing, software licensing business, cybersecurity-related services, and artificial intelligence (AI) products.
Antitrust officials have been conducting informal interviews with rival companies and business partners for over a year, creating a detailed request document in order to force Microsoft to provide information. Several sources familiar with the matter revealed. The request document, approved by Chairperson Khan of the FTC, was sent to Microsoft and one of the officials mentioned.
