Minimalist View Towards Rising Living Cost

1. What are your current living costs and spending habits like in Singapore?

The current daily expenses for my work days does not exceed $13 - about $9 for lunch and dinner and $4 for to and from bus rides from work place. I don't buy stuff unless necessary and when I buy, I will use cash back facilities to reduce costs or stack the cash back with online sales. A useful gadget which I bought is a solar panel with USB output to charge my power banks, watches, earbuds. This would help in to cut down on the electric bills.

2. What do you plan to alter your spending habits?

I reckon there is much I can do to reduce my spendings but could skip dinner if I take a late and heavy lunch on some days with draggy meetings that go way back lunch time.

3. How will you rebalance your investment portfolio?

Due to the possible reduction in interest rate, I have moved into S-REITS (as lower interest rate will reduce their outlay) and short term bonds. This is on top of my current portfolio of many different money market funds from Lion-Global and Fullerton.
