It's been nearly a week since moomoo launched, and it's been a busy week addressing questions from the public. Therefore, I've created this post to clarify any doubts you might have!
Q: Is moomoo a Direct CDS or a nominee account?
A: Nominee account.
Q: I'm already a moomoo SG user, can I use the same phone number and email to register for moomoo MY?
A: Yes, you can activate the moomoo MY feature on your existing app and still use our link to open an account. After clicking our link, proceed to open an account, and then fill in and verify your details. After that, you can use the moomoo MY feature on the moomoo APP (for Malaysian moomoo SG users).
Q: Why can't I use the link to open an account? Moomoo says this promotion is not available in your region. Why am I not eligible to participate?
A: This promotion is only open to users in Malaysia. If you are located in Singapore or other regions, you will not be able to participate. Also, if you have previously clicked on the moomoo Team Up event, you will not be eligible to participate. If you are in Malaysia but still receive such a message, try refreshing or disconnecting from Wifi and use data to open an account.
Q: Can moomoo now trade Malaysian stocks?
A: Yes, you can now officially trade Malaysian stocks starting from 27.2.2024.
Q: After depositing RM 8,000, can I use the funds to buy stocks, or do I need to keep cash?
A: You can buy stocks, but the asset fluctuation cannot exceed 10%. If your stocks fall, you might lose the chance to claim Apple. Therefore, it's recommended to deposit a bit more, like RM 10,000, to secure your rewards.
Q: When can I get the Apple stock?
A: First, use our link to open an account, then deposit RM 8,000 - you can deposit multiple times as long as the assets reach RM 8,000. Press the claim button and wait a month, ensuring the assets remain above RM 8,000. (click “Me” on bottom right, click promotion, click first banner, scroll down and redeem)
Q: Is my moomoo deposit in RM?
A: Yes, the deposit is in RM. If yours is in SGD or USD, you might have chosen the wrong option; you need to open moomoo MY first (remember to use our link).
Q: What is the commission for moomoo MY?
A: For the first 180 days after registration, no transaction fees are required. After that, it's RM 3 platform fee + 0.03% commission (only for the Malaysian market, other markets have different commission systems).
Q: What's the difference between depositing 6,000 and 8,000?
A: Depositing 6,000 is part of the moomoo Team Up event, where you need to bring a friend to deposit 6,000 each to get a reward. If you use our link to deposit 8,000, you can enjoy the reward. If you register using our link, we will benefit from it. This greatly helps our content creation and sharing. If you wish to invite friends, please share our link with them.
Q: Is moomoo MY protected by PIDM?
A: No, but moomoo is protected by CMC Fund. If moomoo fails to pay you the owed amount, eligible individual investors can claim up to RM 100,000 for qualified Malaysian securities/related assets.
Q: Is moomoo MY reliable? Why is the offer of Apple so good?
A: I joined moomoo SG three years ago and still have the Apple stock I received, and I am active in trading on the moomoo platform. Moreover, moomoo has obtained the CMSL license from SC, legally operating securities activities in Malaysia.
You heard it right, they are offering one share of Apple (worth RM 800++, not 0.1 or half a share), so with an RM 8,000 deposit, you directly get a 10% return. Such opportunities are not available in the market every day!
