Welcome to Marina One, the place where our SG homegrown Mediacorp actor Romeo Tan lives!
It’s always been a bit of a love-hate relationship for me whenever I’m here. On one hand, this place feels like a hidden slice of heaven. On the other, it reminds me of my 2 weeks working late-night shoots here, returning home 2am - 3am/5am.
Taken last year inside an office at Marina East Tower. Tesla scammers stop stealing my photo 😡
With public transport already ceased, I felt like crashing anywhere—except I couldn’t because I didn’t live here! And yet, the residents were still awake, walking their dogs and playing with their phones, as if late-night strolls were just part of their routine. Life’s different at Marina One, that’s for sure!
Walking into the hall was filled with people queuing to collect freebies—it’s not an event in Singapore without a line for giveaways! It's really good to see sis Sue Khee again.
CEO Gavin Chia was busy taking photos with State Street celebrities, adding to the lively atmosphere. It’s always great to see a mix of familiar faces, mischievous Chipmunks and investors coming together.
One of the highlights for me was@Trader’s EdgeMr Isaac Lim’s talk, which was informative. His insights were relevant, though the focus leaned more toward the U.S. market, with limited discussion about China. The slides were clear and easy to follow, making the session both engaging and educational. His only complain was, why no one clapped for him when he went up on stage. I am curious too. I did clap for him but he could not hear. However, I wasn’t too thrilled about the panel discussions. I left early, partly because Richard’s Global X booming voice on the microphone was giving me a headache. My sister told me to avoid at at all cost, and to go home, I went to Chinatown instead.
Panel talks usually feel like a waste of time, in my opinion, though there was one moment when someone from the audience asked if AI could be used to help us trade stocks. This idea isn’t new. I recall attending a similar talk last year. The SG trader built an AI-powered robot that generates 10%–30% ROI and promised investors to sleep with a peace of mind while the AI do the job for them. I think its around 4 digits for the course. Overall, it was an insightful event! I’m glad I made the effort to attend, despite my initial hesitation. While not every element hit the mark, it’s always valuable to stay informed and see what’s new in the market.
Not sure what's the cable for, looks like 🕷️😂
Now, it’s time for me to switch gears—I'll focus on my CNY menu and planning my next holiday adventure. Until the next Moomoo event, stay curious and keep trading smart!Thank you@Moomoo SGfor the time to organise this event!
