Just last week, when the WHO announced that Mpox is now a global concern, I had friends that said Mpox has been around for sometime and would probably not reach Singapore's shores... My argument was that given the interconnectivity of the globe and how Singapore is one of Asia's key business hub, it was just a matter of time.

But where will the virus arrive from? My best guess would be via the Middle East. But seeing that as of yesterday, Thailand is the first country in Asia to report such a case... Should our neighbours not be able to track and contain the virus well, we could see some leaks from them.. Not fear mongering.. But stay safe my friends! Remember to mask up and sanitise your hands always!

Really, it's a no brainer here? Just as we stay vigilant with our own hygiene, we should also pay attention to pharmaceutical companies like $Emergent BioSolutions (EBS.US)$ and $BAVARIAN NORDIC SPON ADR EA REPR 0.3333 ORD (BVNRY.US)$ that are currently working on vaccines for both smallpox and Mpox.

Closer to home, of course, we can look at the hospitality counters that may or may not take a hit like $SIA (C6L.SG)$ and $Raffles Medical (BSL.SG)$
