4) Should we all-in into the fund investment?
It depends on your risk appetite. The funds are not zero risk. First they are still securities (also known as mutual fund or unit trust) and are not protected under the SDIC which covers only deposits. In the extreme case (unlikely under the current macroeconomics), the fund may become zero value. Second, there is a small chance that the redemption may be halted if the respective bank or financial institution is under investigation for fraud or bankrupt risk. In 2016, Singapore MAS ordered 2 swiss banks, Falcon Bank and BSI Bank to shutdown. Third, the CSOP USD market money fund is subjected to USD depreciation risk against your country currency.
5) How to DYODD when investing in funds?
Beside knowing your investment goal (point 2) and the purpose (points 3), you should also do a risk management - investment horizon and exit plan. The reason I didn't invest in other higher return funds is I am looking for a short term (6 months or less) and stable (low volatility risk) investment. The return may be small and boring but a small profit is still a profit.
6) What's next in 2025?
I predict the 1H 2025 stock market will be bullish and volatile. I am likely to take profit from stocks that were bought 1-2 years ago. I will park the cash in the 2 above funds and use the money to invest in selected value stocks or ETFs using Value averaging (VA).
