MYR strengthens: Of Malakof, Capitala and Genm Part 1
I entered $MALAKOF (5264.MY)$ back in July 2024. Reasons being
1) company showing turnaround in revenue and profits in the most recent 2 quarters
2) ventures in renewable energy that bodes well with the anticipated growth in data centers in Malaysia as geopolitical tensions funnel investments into Malaysia
3) one of few public listed energy and utilities companies in malaysia the other being Tenaga $TENAGA (5347.MY)$ which when in comparison malakoff price has yet to move much
accumulated 11000units over the past month with average price of 0.8543 and with todays closing of 1.01, gains of 18% so far.
Next step: I will continue to hold my current positions with possible of adding further if there’s any retracement as
1) price to book ratio still less than 1
2) myr strengthened a lot since i entered in July from a low of 4.68789 on 21st july to a high of 4.20966 on 19th sep. this trend will continued following fed rate cut on the 18th sep this shall bode well for malakoff $MALAKOF (5264.MY)$ given it imports coal for its coal fired plants.
Lets hope the best and we shall review again in 2 months time. For now lets take the 2.23 cents dividend going ex this 26th september!
