New Features Added To Moomoo NX!

Previously, I wrote a rather lengthy review on the Moomoo NX Beta and how it compared to the original Moomoo desktop version.
Since then, a couple features have been included alongside bug fixes and QoL changes.
I won't create a detailed side-by-side comparison however, as not too much has been overhauled to warrant a completely new review.
First off, let's talk about the big changes/feature additions!
The main missing features from the original desktop version that NX lacked were the Moo and Algo trading tabs.
These two have now returned, with the Algo trading tab undergoing a re-design and looking more clean.

I doubt much has changed asides from visual modifications, as I do not really use this feature.
What I do use however, is the Moo tab, which has finally returned to allow us easy access to community notifications, view our feed and write posts.

The new Moo tab has visual overhauls and a minimalist clean look, but it also comes with an oddly small and rather annoying window size as everything is cramped into a mobile-device like window.
The learn tab used to be together with the Moo tab as well, but the previous implementation was quite goofy and I hope the NX implementation would be better.
These changes were likely due to Moomoo's intended design, especially the formatting of the community features, intending to be for mobile devices, and weren't native to larger screen sizes.
Regardless it's still possible to write and read posts through it, as I am doing right now.
Also speaking of community, unfortunately the server functionality still does not exist in our chat tab, so that's still missing. RIP Market Mingle & Promo Picks server.
A cute change that I noticed is that the Quick Trade button is no longer free-floating and is instead fixed at the top right bar of the screen.

I find this addition to be more convenient, as it just felt weird having a floaty, movable trade button around.
Specific Technical Additions
The technical features that were recently added were the Analyst/Morningstar ratings & Analysis, now under the "Estimates" tab when viewing a stock.

MorningStar Ratings Tab
MorningStar Ratings Tab
It looks exactly the same as it would on mobile, just that it occupies a bigger space now.
This is great for both the Analyst & Morningstar sections, with Morningstar using up that space to allow clearer readability of their wordy reports, and Analyst ratings utilizing that space to show individual analyst reports/targets.
This new addition is quite the convenience for those who were using these features on mobile.
It's more accessible and allows us to take a look at premium Morningstar reports, which usually would be locked behind an expensive paywall as I've once talked about here.
Btw for those unfamiliar with Morningstar, you can think of Morningstar like the Michelin star of stocks. (Not financial advice.)
The options tab has had some changes as well, and now looks way nicer and has a lot more information and usage as well.

So much empty space
So much empty space
I do find that some of the tabs do not have data going further to the right, which makes a huge empty space. Of course you can use the right panel to open up and view more data (specific info on each stock), but it just looks weird seeing this.
It could have more data displayed to make use of that space imo, such as Market Cap of the stock, IV Percentile and IV Rank, in the Top Underlyings section at least.
A minor change I've noticed, is that they added in a History functionality to the search bar, which is a tidy QoL addition if you wanted to go back to what you searched.
Alongside that, they've added Candlestick patterns into the Stock Tabs, allowing you to essentially screen stocks based off Candlestick patterns, same as the one that exists on Mobile.
Wow candlestick screeners
Wow candlestick screeners
I don't personally use them, but some of you might, and hey now you know its on desktop too.
Oh yeah and I just noticed this, and it may be a bug, but whenever you click on Watchlist, it will show a red indicator that tells you where the latest candle is, they should rlly change the shape or color of it though as I mistook it for a sell tag or candlestick pattern and its a very misleading look.

Bugs & Further Feature Requests/What got fixed
On the mobile version of Moomoo, the financials are summarized in bar charts and line graphs, this is something Moomoo NX lacks, and makes it very difficult for us to analyze a company based off raw data.
No visualization :(
No visualization :(
This will probably eventually be added, but i don't rlly see this as having a big priority.
Under the same topic of analysis, Moomoo NX still lacks any meaningful "Analysis" under the Analysis tab of a stock.
All you get are Short volume and Short interest, which is not real time data.
Having more added to the Analysis tab would make it more insightful to look at, or else it might as well just be renamed to "Short Data" tab, perhaps having the P/E ratio graph shown on Mobile (and existed in the original desktop version), added here.
Analysis tab being useless

Space-wise, a minor, not so important issue that was nicely fixed is the accounts tab having too much unused space.

New Look
New Look
Now, it shows a lot more information and makes up more of the right side of the screen, I find myself looking at this more often lately actually.
The accounts tab is just significantly more useful to me nowadays.
However, a large problem with the accounts tab is that while you can view information on your Funds (Just like on mobile), you can't actually redeem or subscribe to any, let alone see the historical data/information of any Fund in the first place.
This feature was missing since my original review, and shld probably be implemented soon.
New Features Added To Moomoo NX!
Why allow us to double click the Fund just to see an absolutely blank screen? We can see news and comments on the fund but no data on the Funds at all, its a really underdeveloped feature that I understand wouldn't be prioritized, but a lot of users utilize cash plus alongside other funds quite often.
Another minor bug that hasn't been fixed is that sometimes clicking on certain elements on Moomoo NX that prompts a "browser" window, will instead show the login page for your Moomoo account, essentially you can't view certain things that prompt a link being opened as the browser being used doesn't recognize that you are logged in.
(Used to be worse but its less likely now)
No pics cuz this is quite a random occurrence.
The final minor bug that isn't fixed is that in the custom dashboard, if a widget's lower slider coincides with the lower screen's slider, the widget's slider cannot be used.
New Features Added To Moomoo NX!
It's quite hard to explain but essentially, the opaque slider cannot be used, while the larger translucent slider can.
This means that you can't slide the widget sideways.
It's been a problem since the last review, so I hope they eventually fix this somehow.
Speaking of the custom dashboard, they've fixed the sizing issue with certain widgets where the elements where so widely spread apart from each other that in smaller widget sizes, it would not wrap around the tile and instead just be fixed in size.
It's quite hard to explain but tl;dr is that widgets in the custom dashboard are easier to size now.
However, on the Trade widget, if I were to click on the button that opens the trade fees window, it actually clips out of the border of the screen and pushes the dashboard boundary outwards.
Before

After, where the widget is now double in size and stretches the boundary.
After, where the widget is now double in size and stretches the boundary.
It would be nice to have a popup instead of an extension to the side, in order to save space, as I find the fee panel to be "temporary" information that I won't need the extra space to permanently have.
Conclusions
Finally, that should be all the bugs and little features I think are still missing, If I've missed any feel free to tell me in the comments below!
I think the Moomoo NX team is really putting a lot of effort into developing a more modern, user-friendly desktop experience for us users, and I'm glad that the platform fees we pay are finally going into something that's actually useful.
To take a look at my coupon history and how i'm at a net gain despite the platform fees, see this post here: 690 SGD in coupons since last October?!?!?!
(Moomoo pls hire me as a QA tester )
