Sidus Space Announces an Additional Contract Award for NASA ASTRA
Sidus Space (NASDAQ: SIDU) has been awarded a follow-on contract from NASA Stennis for additional ASTRA (Autonomous Satellite Technology for Resilient Applications) support aboard LizzieSat™-1. The expanded mission objectives focus on collecting onboard data for critical systems, enabling ASTRA's Primary Operations Control Center to manage the Electrical Power System through Sidus' Mission Control Center. This advancement allows for continuous monitoring and optimization of the satellite's battery voltage, ensuring normal payload operation even in suboptimal solar conditions.
The new capabilities include dynamic power management, activating or deactivating specific equipment based on battery charge levels and mission needs. This represents a significant improvement in operational flexibility and efficiency. CEO Carol Craig highlighted that this contract with NASA demonstrates Sidus Space's commitment to advancing space technology through innovation and execution.
