Peraso Inc. Announces Purchase Order for DUNE Platform From Kenyan WISP
Peraso Inc. (NASDAQ:PRSO) has received a purchase order for its DUNE platformfrom a Kenyan wireless Internet service provider (WISP). This marks a significant step in deploying 60GHz technology in Africa. The DUNE platform, utilizing mmWave technology, offers a robust solution for high-density environments, supporting 32 end users per access point.
The WISP will replace its existing 5GHz technology with Peraso's 60GHz mmWave solution, expected to improve performance, enable higher density operation, and lower cost per customer. The project will be implemented in two phases: point-to-point (PTP) for backhaul and point-to-multipoint (PTMP) for last-mile access.
This deployment is anticipated to enhance the WISP's ability to scale its business across Kenyan population centers, including Nairobi and Mombasa. With an estimated 22.7 million internet users in Kenya, Peraso believes this project could have a substantial impact on improving internet services for a large number of users.
