Nidec revises its operating profit forecast for the current fiscal year upward
$Nidec(6594.JP$On the 23rd, the full-year operating profit forecast was revised 4.3% higher due to a recovery in hard disk drive demand, efforts to improve profitability, and the effects of the depreciation of the yen.
The company raised its operating profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31 next year to 240 billion yen (1.5 billion 30 million dollars) from the previous forecast of 230 billion yen and the analyst average forecast of 246.9 billion yen.
According to the financial results report announced by the company on the same day, operating income for the April-6 fiscal year was 60.3 billion yen, which was almost flat from 60.2 billion yen in the same period last year compared to the average forecast of 58.4 billion yen from analysts surveyed by LSEG.
Nidec said in a statement, “We expect demand for generators, which are essential for data centers, to expand rapidly.”
Demand for HDD motors has recovered, and it is said that demand for AI water cooling modules is also rapidly expanding.

Yoshi_777 : If the market accepts the comment that it was a conservative full-year forecast in order to always achieve it by the new president, it seems that stock prices will honestly accept this earnings forecast revision despite not exceeding consensus that much, unlike in the past.
