10baggerbamm : because there's only one Elon Musk that's what you don't seem to grasp you're comparing apples to oranges not to say there's other companies that don't make electric cars obviously there's many companies Tesla happens to be profitable number one number two they have a extremely loyal customer base and there's no Chinese product that's made that has that allegiance. people that drive a Tesla are as loyal to them as Apple customers are to their tablet and to their iPhone they will never switch they don't care if you give them another phone they won't use it. and then when you factor in the forward potential for Tesla with robo taxi with the Cyber cab and then ultimately optimis which some analysts have said it's 27 trillion dollars is the value for the robot industry and that's 10 to 15 years down the road but it's something that is not even factored in to the stock but at some point in time it will be. and then of course you have their energy division the charging stations so there's a lot of layers to this onion that other companies don't have

LionS MOO : NIO will never be able to compete with Tesla. Trump won't allow it. The G7 will implement very high Tariffs to block NIO. So it doesn't matter how well NIO can innovate. Basically All small China EV car makers are gone case in Global markets.

Shootingstar : china business model is very unique. they need to export to report positive gdp. to maximize export for positive regional gdp gov gives subsidies to manufacturing companies to produce goods and sold cheaply just to hit this quota. very high tariffs will be imposed soon regardless of which side wins in usa because their methodology is crippling manufacturing industries worldwide. Chinese companies did not want to open elsewhere to give jobs to their locals but welcome foreign companies to their country to give jobs to their own ppl. this is another problem and china is relocating factories to places like mexico etc. trump knows and has vowed to make the playing field fair

Cuneight8 OP : I always wondered why china do the same thing other countries did to their companies. Most of the European and American brand are selling in china without any tariffs why china wouldn’t do the same and sell their product in Europe or USA it’s not fair for client and companies.
