On October 10, a NIO ES6 owner named "小桃花树满尚山" posted a message on the NIO App, saying that he was driving the NIO ES6 alone on National Highway 317 late at night on October 7. When he was turning on the Jue'en Township section of National Highway 317 in Dingqing County, he accidentally drove into the opposite lane due to distraction. After breaking through the wire fence on the outside of the road, he and his car overturned to the farmland at the bottom of the slope, falling a vertical height of about 40 meters.
According to the hospital emergency report and the on-site accident report, the ES6 owner only had minor rib injuries; during the rollover of the NIO ES6 he was driving, the side air curtains and the middle distal airbags in the cabin popped out and deployed in time, and the seat belts protected the owner firmly in the cabin. The A, B, and C pillars of the entire vehicle also withstood the huge impact of the 40-meter rollover and fall. Not only did they not show signs of collapse or crushing, but they also perfectly supported the survival space for the owner.
